RTWET sp. z o.o. in Miedniewice uses ionizing radiation for veterinary purposes for diagnosis and treatment (teleradiotherapy) of small animals

Activities related to ionizing radiation are implemented on the basis of permits issued by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency.

In RTWET sp.z o.o. in Miedniewice, ionizing radiation generating devices are used :

• Varian Medical Systems Linear accelerator Clinac 600 C/D
• Philips PET/CT GEMINI GXL computed tomograph

The areas of the linear accelerator laboratory and the X-ray laboratory are classified as supervised areas and are protected against access by unauthorized persons. Only employees qualified to work in exposure to ionizing radiation and animals undergoing medical procedures may stay in these areas

Activities do not generate radioactive waste.

In the interests of the safety of employees and the general population, individual dosimetry is performed and measurements of the working environment are done, on the basis of which it is stated that the dose limits specified in the Atomic Law (consolidated text – Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1792, as amended) are not exceeded.
